# Create Pairing Token

The following describes when you need to use this procedure to create a new pairing token:

* **Registering many devices**. If you are using one of the procedures described in [Register Devices at Scale](https://docs.connect.jfrog.io/features-new-ui), use the procedure below to generate the required token.
* **Registering a single device**. In this case, use the procedure described in [Register a Device](https://docs.connect.jfrog.io/get-to-know-new-ui/get-started/register-device-agent-7.0). You do *not* need the procedure on this page.

### Create Token

To create a pairing token, do the following:

1. In Fleet Settings, go to the **Pairing Token** tab.
2. In the dropdown at the top of the page, choose the fleet to be paired to devices.
3. Click **Generate Token**, and **Generate Token**, and copy the token to the clipboard.

3. Paste the token into the registration command that you are going to use (for registering devices at scale). If you have a secure place to keep the token, you can copy it there also.

The token is valid for the current fleet only and does not expire.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.connect.jfrog.io/administration-new-ui/fleet-settings/manage-device-project-pairing-tokens/create-device-project-token.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
