# Rotate Pairing Token

JFrog Connect uses tokens and enables token rotation according to the [JWT](https://jwt.io/introduction) standard. Token rotation is a security mechanism designed to minimize the risks associated with token theft and unauthorized use. When you rotate the pairing token in Connect, you replace the token with a new one.

If you suspect that a token has been compromised, or if you just want to keep your security risk low, you can rotate or revoke the pairing token at any time.

To rotate the pairing token, do the following:

1. In Fleet Settings, go to the **Pairing Token** tab and locate the relevant Token ID. If you don’t see the token in the table, you can use the filter on the right to find it.
2. In the row of the relevant Token ID, click the **More** icon (three dots) on the far right and choose **Rotate**.

You can follow the status of the token by hovering over the Rotation Status column in the table. The popup will show you the number of devices in each state:

* Pending
* In Progress
* Failed

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.connect.jfrog.io/administration-new-ui/fleet-settings/manage-device-project-pairing-tokens/rotate-device-project-token.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
